Do members of your congregation have dementia or care for someone with dementia?
Would your congregants like to learn more about this brain disease and how to best communicate with and support the people living with it? We can help!
Dementia Connections is a two-hour (or shorter) dementia awareness program offered to faith communities by Dementia Friendly WNC. In this interactive program, we talk with you about:
- What dementia is
- Its warning signs
- Differences between normal aging and dementia
- Tips to improve communication, and
- How to make your congregation more dementia friendly.
There is no charge for this program. If you are interested, please contact us at wncdementiafriendlycommunities@gmail.com for more information.
We are so grateful for the congregations and organizations that have had training or requested future dates for Dementia Connections.
